Veneer Plastering -  We provide skim coat plaster finish on walls and ceilings using veneer plaster. This creates a smoothly finished area which is ready to paint with no sanding required. We can also provide many other finishes; textured ceilings are very common in new homes.

Wire Mesh - Mostly carried out where the area to be plastered is not flat or straight. One place you might find this is on the corner of a ceiling underneath a stairway. Firstly the wire mesh must be cut to shape and secured using screws and washers. The next step is to apply several layers of base coat to strengthen and develop the wall to make it ready for the finish coat. The last step is to skim coat it smooth with veneer plaster.

Hanging of Blueboard - This is a skill overlooked by many in the trade today. Knowing where to position the joints and screws is critical over the lifetime of your home.

Patchwork and Repairs - Repairing of cracks in old plaster walls and ceilings and replacing small areas with new board and plaster. Most of this work is done on old horsehair plaster.

Re-skimming - This is something that is done over old walls and ceilings that are already structurally sound but need a new finish. It is done by firstly making sure all the surfaces are free and clear of dirt and old wallpaper residue. Once the area is clean, we apply a bonding agent which also acts as a sealer. The next step is to coat the surface with a level coat of plaster, and let it harden; this is the new base. The final step is to finish it with veneer plaster, so it is all smooth, or we can also texture at this stage.

Stucco -  There are many different methods for applying stucco. Some involve wire mesh with a base coat; some are done using an insulation board and then base coat. There are also many different brands and materials used. If this is a service you require, please contact us for further information.
